Congratulations to our Academy who became ‘Champion of Champions’, defeating St Albans City on penalties to win the Suburban League Champions Cup!
The young Shots were taking part in the final after winning the Suburban League last year.
Ashley Akpan gave the young Shots an early lead after a bright start, but were pegged back just before half-time.
Mason Obeng restored Aldershot’s advantage not long after the second-half started, but a 90th minute equaliser meant the game would be decided at the penalty spot.
A long penalty shootout saw nine Shots youngsters step up but, it was Aldershot who came out on top with a 7-6 penalties win as ‘keeper Max West contributed with a couple of saves and Zion Nditi stepped up to score the winning spot kick.
