A Year Under Tommy Widdrington

A year ago today, Tommy Widdrington was named as Aldershot Town First-Team Manager!

Hired with the task of keeping the Shots in the Vanarama National League, Widdrington’s new side remained unbeaten for the final six games and secured their survival with a 2-2 draw at York City.

Fast forward to a year later and with four games remaining in the 23/24 Vanarama National League season and Tommy Widdrington’s Aldershot Town lie in seventh place, occupying the final promotion playoff spot.

The gaffer has also overseen a historic FA Cup run, resulting in 4500 Shots travelling to Championship promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion after a famous 7-4 First Round win over Swindon Town and a last-minute 1-0 win over Stockport County in front of the BBC cameras.

It’s been an incredible first year with Tommy at the wheel and we look forward to the future with Widdrington in charge!
