500 Club Close To Raising £30,000 – With More To Come!

Aldershot Town’s new 500 Club, which offers supporters a unique ‘money-back-and-more’ chance to back The Shots in their push for promotion, is already close to adding £30,000 to Gary Waddock’s playing budget.

The scheme is set to close at the end of January and Commercial Manager Mark Butler has set a target of raising £40,000 which could make all the difference in challenging for a return to the Football League – with 100% of all donations going direct to Gary.

The 500 Club invites supporters to invest £500 to put the finishing touches to a squad that is already in second place in the National League, and playing some of the best football in the division. If The Shots win promotion back to League Two next summer, every investor would receive their £500 back plus a premium of £100 as recognition of their support. Along with Butler, all Club Directors have made their own donations to match this investment.

Supporters interested in investing £500 (or more!) are invited to call 01252 320211 or email mark.butler@theshots.co.uk.

Alternatively, several ‘consortiums’ have been created, including two run by The Crimea public house opposite the EBB Stadium, whilst Shotsweb are on their seventh PayPal pool for supporters who cannot afford £500 but still want to contribute – click here for full details.

“I am amazed at the success of this scheme and cannot believe the generosity of so many Shots fans, so I have to thank each and every person who has supported us so far” said Butler. “I genuinely think these donations could be vital in helping the Club achieve what we all want and making this another legendary season. But we are not there yet, and I would urge anybody who is still considering joining us to get involved and be a part of what could be something really special. This Club has always been about the fans and we can play a major role in shaping a glorious future.”

The Shots are six points better off than this time last year, but perhaps more crucially are seven points closer to the league leaders, meaning there is all to play for in the second-half of the season.

Thank you in advance for your support already this season, it is always greatly appreciated – together the Club can achieve something special.
