MATCH REPORT: Dagenham & Redbridge 6 Aldershot Town 1

Aldershot Town fell to a disappointing 6-1 defeat against Dagenham & Redbridge at Victoria Park on Saturday.

Goals from Ben House, Manny Onariase, Joan Luque, Will Wright and Joe Quigley condemned to Shots to a heavy loss.

A late goal from Robbie Tinkler was only able to be a consolation on a disappointing day all-round.

Manager Danny Searle made two changes from his last National League side two weeks ago. Harrison Panayiotou and Alex Finney replaced Mohamed Bettamer and the suspended Lewis Kinsella.

The Daggers took an early lead through debutant Ben House in the sixth minute. It was a very well worked move which involved a couple of one-two interchanges down the Shots left before Bouse calmly finished into the bottom right corner.

It got worse for the shots nine minutes later when House notched his second for the club. Chike Kandi won the ball on the right-hand-side before playing a cross perfectly in onto the debutant’s head. The striker couldn’t miss from a couple of yards out.

It was three, two minutes later, this time it was directly from a corner. Onariese rose highest to put a Joan Luque delivery into the top corner.

Mitch Walker was then forced into a couple of very good saves in a period which the hosts were certainly on top.

A period which they eventually used to extend their lead further. Another well-worked move beginning on the right ended on the left with Luque finishing into the bottom left corner.

Shamir Mullings and Joe Quigley both had very good chances for their respective teams from set-pieces around the hour mark but neither were able to convert.

Will Wright added to the Daggers advantage with just over 20 minutes to play. He fired his close range free-kick into the top left corner, giving Walker no chance.

The sixth goal was a great strike from distance by Quigley into the top right corner which Walker could do nothing about.

Robbie Tinkler did get one back for the Shots with a well-taken header just a few minutes later, but it was nothing more than a consolation as we move onto to our next National League game at home to Notts County.
