Shots Support Step By Step’s Seventh Sleep Out

Step by Step’s seventh-annual Sleep Out returns to the EBB Stadium on Friday 23 June, as hundreds sleep rough to ensure local young people don’t have to.

The event has previously raised approximately £60,000 to help improve the lives of people across the region, as entrants spend one night sleeping rough on the famous East Bank terrace.

This year Step by Step are hoping to smash all records for money raised by encouraging teams to share the experience and enjoy live music, games, arts and crafts, and a feature film before settling down for the night.

Every £70 raised allows one young person to access a warm bed for one night, plus 24-hour support from Step by Step staff.

Registration costs £10 for adults and £8 for children aged 4 – 17, including a breakfast bacon butty and hot drinks. Made-to-order wood-fired pizzas are also available for purchase on site, whilst for the first time a feature film will be shown on the EBB Stadium’s large scoreboard.

Step by Step works across Hampshire, Surrey and West Berkshire, a region in which well over 2000 young people are regularly sleeping rough. The charity provides accommodation, specialist support services, training and employment opportunities to 16-24 year olds facing homelessness and other difficulties in their lives.
