Shots Support Sleep Out

Aldershot Town are delighted to once again host Step By Step’s annual Sleep Out Challenge at the EBB Stadium on Friday 24 June.

Now in its sixth year, the fundraising event invites people to swap their bed for a sleeping bag, for one night only, to help support young people facing homelessness.

The Sleep Out is designed to raise awareness of homelessness and help Step By Step tackle it. The challenge does not claim to replicate homelessness in any way; however, participants will experience the discomfort of trying to sleep in a cardboard box, on the East Bank steps, for one night. Beyond the challenge, the Sleep Out is also designed to be fun. The night will include a live band, games, competitions and hot food and drink. All this before the real challenge begins, of sleeping out so that young people don’t have to.

Registration is now open on the Step by Step website, www.stepbystep.org.uk. Gain sponsorship to Sleep Out and all proceeds will go towards the delivery and maintenance of Step By Step’s services.

Step By Step works across Hampshire, Surrey and West Berkshire, a region in which over 2200 young people are regularly sleeping rough. The charity provides accommodation, specialist support services, training and employment opportunities to 16-24 year olds facing homelessness and other difficulties in their lives.
