Robbie Yates

First-Team Goalkeeper Coach



After retiring from playing at the age of 45, (having continued coaching whilst playing), Yates started prioritising coaching, beginning with his own Goalkeeping School called Between the Sticks with AFC Bournemouth Goalkeeper/Coach Neil Moss from 2003 to March 2021. During which time, Yates also worked at AFC Bournemouth as Goalkeeping Coach from 2003 to 2011, before switching to work as a Goalkeeping Tutor for the Football Association from 2010 to 2017.  Yates has also worked as a Goalkeeping Coach for Dorset FA from 2003 to 2015 and also Poole Town as a Goalkeeping Coach from 2011 to 2018, during which time Yates won 7 trophies and also 2 Promotions with Poole’s Goalkeeper Nick Hutchings voted Non-League Goalkeeper of the Year. Yates would then move onto now-Vanarama National League side Weymouth FC from 2018 to 2021. It was he would meet current Aldershot Town management team Mark Molesley and Tom Prodomo, enjoying a successful spell that saw them win 5 Trophies and 2 Promotions in that time and will hope to bring this kind of success to The Shots too.
