Anwar Uddin joined the Shots in May 2019 as Assistant Manager to Danny Searle. Prior to joining the Shots he was First Team Coach at Maidstone United under Hakan Heyrettin and John Still. Uddin was also captain of Still’s Dagenham & Redbridge side which saw them propel from the Conference to League One. His former clubs include West Ham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol Rovers, Dagenham & Redbridge, Barnet, Sutton United and Eastbourne Borough, he also had brief loan stints at Hereford United, Telford United and Grays Athletic. He was the first British-Asian to captain a side in the top four divisions and whilst captain at Barnet he was made Caretaker Assistant Manager under Giuliano Grazioli. He also works as Diversity & Campaigns Manager at the Football Supporters’ Federation and leads the Fans for Diversity campaign with Kick It Out. After retiring from playing he coached at West Ham United, Maldon & Tiptree and Maidstone United and has managed Sporting Bengal United, Ware and Glebe.
