Girl’s Professional Development Phase (U18)

Aldershot Town F.C Academy are delighted to announce our BRAND NEW Girls Youth Academy, beginning in the 2022/23 season.

The Aldershot Town F.C Women’s Youth Academy will replicate our current 16-19 scholarship programme and be aimed at girls (16-18 years old) looking for full-time football and education. The aim of the Academy is to provide a platform for individuals to become employable and well rounded, whilst developing as a player.  

The Aldershot Town F.C Women’s Youth Academy will train 4 times a week, experience coaching from UEFA qualified coaches, have access to a physiotherapist, strength & conditioning programmes, trips abroad, nutritional support and advice.

The Education is delivered by specialist partners Knights Group and based at the excellent Academy facilities at Farnborough Rugby Club. Taking place over five days a week, the players study for the NCFE Extended Diploma in Sport (equivalent to 3 A-Levels) with the option of an additional A-Level. They cover various sports related units during the NCFE such as Sports Coaching, Fitness Testing and Training, Sports Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Business, Sports Psychology. 

In addition, we enhance the students’ individual C.V’s through delivery of FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 Coaching Awards, employability qualifications, GCSE Maths and English and work based learning.

The course will be aimed to develop individuals football development, whilst developing knowledge to move onto a career in sport. We have developed strong external links and exit routes for the players; coaching abroad or in the U.K., a playing scholarship in the U.S.A, University opportunities or sports based jobs.
