The Chairman’s Christmas Message

A Christmas message from Shots Chairman Shahid Azeem…

On behalf of Aldershot Town Football Club, and our first-team squad, I would like to wish all supporters a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thank you for your fantastic support throughout 2014. I am very proud to be Chairman of Aldershot Town, but this is your club, and your passion and loyalty is what makes this such a special place.

Our thanks also go to our staff and volunteers, who have continued to work tirelessly during a very busy period, and give their time so willingly. It is greatly appreciated by myself, the Board of Directors and the Club.

We are grateful, too, to our sponsors and community partners, who have helped establish The Shots at the heart of our unique town.

We as Club are also extremely proud and honoured to be the home of the British Army. To have hosted the Truce Concert, and be selected by the Football Association and the Army FA to host the prestigious Truce match between the British and German Army teams, has provided two highlights of our year.

It was, of course, also written in the stars that we would play Portsmouth on Remembrance Sunday in this, the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great War.

We have enjoyed some hugely memorable moments during the year, and yes some frustrating times too, but it’s important that we all stick together as one.

Please enjoy a fantastic Christmas and cherish the time spent with loved ones. We hope to welcome you back to the Electrical Services Stadium on Boxing Day, when leaders Barnet visit us for what should be a great occasion.

We look forward to 2015 and hope that it brings everything you wish for, on and off the pitch.
