Minute Silence Honours Shoreham Victims

A minute’s silence will be observed before Saturday’s National League game against Eastleigh in memory of the victims of the Shoreham Airshow Tragedy.

Among the 11 people who died on Saturday, when a Hawker Hunter T7 jet crashed onto the A27, were two members of Worthing United’s squad travelling to their Southern Combination Premier Division fixture versus Loxwood.

Goalkeeper Matthew Grimstone – also a member of the Brighton and Hove Albion groundstaff – and midfielder Jacob Schlit were both 23. The Mavericks have postponed all senior matches until further notice.

Aldershot Town again sends its condolences and best wishes to everybody at Worthing United, as well as the friends and family of everybody involved in the crash.
