Rhys Day
Rhys is an ex-Wales Under-21 international and the younger brother of professional snooker player Ryan Day.
He was a trainee at Manchester City and signed full contract forms in September 1999 before going on loan to Blackpool in December 2001. He then joined Mansfield Town on loan in November 2002 and impressed sufficiently for the move to become permanent.
Rhys suffered relegation from Division 2 with the Stags at the end of the 2002-03 season, but then helped the club reach the 2004 Division 3 Play-Off Final where they lost in a penalty shoot-out to Huddersfield Town.
He then missed large parts of the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons due to injury and was eventually released, joining Aldershot Town in July 2006.
Rhys was named as Captain for the 2007-08 season and led the Shots to the FA Trophy Semi-Finals and, more importantly, to the Blue Square Premier title.
At the end of May 2008, Rhys signed a one-year extension to his contract at the Rec and went on to make his 100th appearance for the Shots in the home game against Exeter City in November 2008.
Pre-Shots Career Stats :
