Partnerships

We aim to work with local children to increase their participation in sport, enhance the quality of their sporting education and to provide opportunities which they would not otherwise receive without an affiliation to a local professional football club.

Aldershot Town welcome the next generation of Shots fans with open arms – whatever their age, we offer a great package for you and your children to get involved with your local club!

Children Under 11 are admitted FREE to all league games when accompanied by a paying adult and can also join the Junior Shots – the coolest club in town for a huge range of exclusive benefits. Click here for full details

Our Community Stand is available to schools and community groups to bring young children to first-team matches – please email admin@theshots.co.uk to apply, with details of your group, how many tickets you require and any preferred matches.

How do we aim to achieve this?

By providing local children with access to highly-qualified and experienced professional sports coaches who are experts in their particular field;

Encouraging local children to become involved with the football club through a variety of initiatives;

Equipping youngsters from all walks of life with the skills and motivation to lead active, healthy and happy lives and make a positive contribution to society.

As a small professional football club, we strive to provide a personal touch that other clubs will not be able to provide. We are also capable of providing the children with access to opportunities that local companies are unable to provide. As our community foundation is a registered charity, all funds generated are re-invested into the development of local young children as well as adults through a variety of initiatives.

We believe that sports participation has the power to develop respect for the game, for opponents and teammates, as well as for coaches and officials. Our players, coaches and all other members of staff are important role models.

We believe that sports can empower people by allowing them to develop characteristics such as confidence, courage, leadership and organisation, which are so important for success.

We believe that both engaging in sports and seeing the achievements of others can inspire people to build greater motivation in their own lives, to set greater goals, and to have the courage to achieve them.

We believe that sport can inspire people and provide children with the necessary discipline to achieve in both sporting and academic environments.

We will also use our network of schools to maximise the impact of a number of other initiatives throughout the season, including visits from our players to help disseminate a number of important messages related to sport and education.

Our programmes are bespoke to each school’s needs, designed to support and involve the least active children whilst challenging the gifted and talented. We aim to equip young people with movement cognitive and social skills and offer age-appropriate coaching to create enjoyable and positive learning environments. These will hopefully build the foundations for a life-long, healthy and active lifestyle.

All of our coaches are highly-qualified and experienced professional football or sports coaches. They are also DBS checked with up-to-date safeguarding certification, licensed by the English Football Association and first-aid qualified. Registered with the Hampshire County Football Association. All attend regular in-service training events run by the football club as well as continual professional development events run by governing bodies such as the FA & Football League.

Our Aims:

To promote participation and understanding of the benefits of sport, and in particular football, increasing the number of young people playing and watching the game subsequently raising the standards of play;

To extend Aldershot Town FCs reach into all areas of the local community;

To provide football development programmes with other organisations involved in the provision of football (e.g. schools, councils, youth teams, etc.) promoting the image of football at all levels;

To provide enjoyable activity for all ages through playing, officiating, spectating and administration;

To provide healthy living by encouraging people to exercise, helping young people to live active lifestyles;

To promote teamwork, sportsmanship and good behaviour.
