Alton Town 1 Aldershot Town Youth 3

Aldershot Town Football Club U18 commenced its pre-season games programme against Alton Town today and ran out 3-1 winners in a well contested encounter. Mo Davies equalised from a Max Worsfold cross in the first half, and Bradley Pegg and Tom Allen added goals in the second half. Newly appointed Technical Coach Geoff Warner joined Head of Youth Tim Coe and U18 Assistant Manager Russ Wilkinson in the dugout for the first time.

Coe commented, "we were delighted to fulfill the fixture at Alton Town, and it was great to see this year's first year scholars join the second year scholars for the first time. Everyone who was fit played at least half and we will make sure that the pre-season minutes are shared around whilst away in Holland and on our return before the start of the season against Brighton on Saturday 14th."

"I was pleased with the contribution of every player and the group is coming together very nicely. We have a good spirit and hunger amongst the players who aim to emulate Danny Hylton and Reece Connolly by forcing their way into the first team squad."

The U18s now travel to Holland to continue their pre-season preparations.
