From The Opposition Bench: John Sheridan

Chesterfield boss John Sheridan spoke to The Shots following his side's unfortunate 1-0 defeat at the EBB Stadium on Saturday afternoon and his views matched those of Shots manager Kevin Dillon when he said: "I thought we played very well but we haven't got anything to show for it and that's criminal for the chances that we had. I'm sick of saying it and we need to get a bit of a ruthless streak as I've told them [his players] in there, I don't think they've got a winning mentality at the moment.

"Don't get me wrong, we've played some good football to create the chances, but it's one of them things - if you don't put them away you get punished and their [Aldershot's] goal has come from a corner.

"We've got a terrible knack of letting really soft goals in and today was a very soft goal.

"I'm down in the dumps because I think we've played very well and we've come here as the away team - against a decent side, and we've controlled the game. We've had some quality chances to win the football match and we haven't taken them and we've got punished and that's what happens.

"We took the game to them and we should have got something out of it, but we've been beaten again. I'm getting a bit tired of people telling me how well we've played but we've not got anything to show for it so I'm getting a bit tired of it to be fair."
