Loan Signing Confirmed

It is confirmed that 18-year-old striker Marlon Jackson has signed on a month loan deal from Bristol City. This news was provided to subscribers of The Shots Online SMS service first. An audio interview with Marlon is now available on The Shots Online. This deal has been made possible due to the availabilty of funding from the newly created Player Transfer Fund

18-year-old striker Marlon Jackson has become manager Kevin Dillon's first signing as manager of Aldershot Town Football Club.

The boss mooted in his video interview on The Shots Online after Tuesday's 2-1 victory versus Northampton Town that he was aiming to bring in one or two additions prior to Thursday's loan transfer deadline.

Jackson arrives at the club on a month loan agreement with Bristol City, a club that he has served since joining the academy as an eight year old.

He does possess Football League experience this season having featured in a similar loan spell at Hereford United. Indeed Marlon came on as a second half substitute for The Bulls in the 2-2 draw at the EBB Stadium in September.

Marlon will turn 19 during his time at Aldershot and he is also eligible to play in the FA Cup this weekend at Tranmere Rovers.

Boss Dillon said on The Shots Online , "We have a small squad at the club and we are looking to bring in two players before Thursday's deadline with Marlon being the first arrival. It is important to strengthen the squad. I like to have forwards available and have some fire power too. You have to have competition for places all the time to ensure that players don't rest on their laurels."

There will be a comprehensive interview with Kevin on The Shots Online on Thursday as he discusses the arrival of Marlon and, possibly, an additional arrival. He will also preview Saturday's FA Cup second round tie at Tranmere Rovers.

Marlon's full player profile is now availble in the Team section of 'The Shots'.
