Chelsea Bring European Action To The EBB

Chelsea’s Under 21 side begin another exciting season at the EBB Stadium next Friday as they host Liverpool in Group A of the Premier League International Cup.

The match, which kicks off at 7.05pm, is the first of 10 fixtures confirmed so far for the Blues at the EBB Stadium. Chelsea have already beaten Liverpool this season, with a 1-0 victory in the opening game of the Barclays Under 21 Premier League season thanks to a 92nd minute winner from the prolific Tammy Abraham.

With several of The Blues’ Under 21 stars now graduated to Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad or on loan at some of Europe’s top clubs, a new generation of players – including Abraham, Kasey Palmer, Reece Mitchell, John Swift, Josi Quintero and Charly Musonda – have graduated into Adi Viveash’s side.

On Friday 16 October, Chelsea continue their Premier League International Cup schedule by welcoming Portuguese giants Benfica to the EBB Stadium, with their final Group A fixture against Scottish champions Celtic on Friday 4 December.

Chelsea, who finished third in the 2014-15 Barclays Under 21 Premier League, also host seven league fixtures at the EBB Stadium, including games against fellow title challengers Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

However, despite several media reports to the contrary, Chelsea’s Under 21 Premier League fixture against Manchester United, originally scheduled for Sunday 13 September, will now be re-arranged on a new date to be confirmed.
