Chelsea Host Big Names At The EBB

Chelsea’s Under 21 team play three big matches at the EBB Stadium this month, all offering a great chance to see the international stars of tomorrow on your doorstep and at a great price.

This Friday, 16 October, at 7.05pm, admission is free for all to see The Blues host Portuguese giants Benfica in Group A of the Premier League International Cup. Chelsea beat Liverpool 4-2 in their opening match of the tournament at the EBB Stadium, whilst Benfica beat Celtic 2-1 at Wycombe Wanderers’ Adams Park with goals from Portugal under 17 international Diogo Gonçalves and Montenegro under 19 striker Oliver Sarkic.

The Lisbon club’s Academy – known as Benfica B – play in the second division of professional Portuguese football, a league in which they have finished seventh, fifth and sixth in the last three seasons. Managed by former Portugal international and Newcastle United loanee Helder Cristovao, Benfica B feature an array of youth internationals, including defender João Nunes, who is captain of the Portugal under 20 team.

That is followed by a special half-term treat for young football fans, as Patrick Vieira’s Manchester City visit the EBB Stadium on Mon 26 October at 5.30pm, in a Barclays Under 21 Premier League clash. Admission is FREE for all supporters, with the match also broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Later that week, on Friday 30 October at 7.05pm, Tottenham Hotspur are the opposition in another Under 21 Premier League fixture

Chelsea Under 21s then play another three consecutive games at the EBB Stadium, against Sunderland (Mon 30 Nov), Celtic (Fri 4 Dec), and Liverpool (Mon 14 Dec).

Unless stated, admission for all fixtures is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
