The Mark Butler Story Part 1

Please find part one of The Mark Butler Story available now. This is the first of a seven part interview that will be available on The Shots Online over the next few weeks. You can subscribe to this service by following the details on the home page. We are also pleased to include a profile of Mark Butler which has been taken from the manuscript of the forthcoming The Official Who's Who of Aldershot Town. The book is a highly-detailed A-to-Z of all 350 players to have played in a competitive first team game for Aldershot Town FC. The entire pre and post-Shots careers of each player, even those who have made just one appearance for the Shots, are detailed in this book. Written by Pete Stanford, it is the most complete work ever undertaken in relation to Aldershot Town FC and has been officially endorsed by the club. The book will be available later this summer. The book will also contain pictures of 303 players mainly provided by club photographer Ian Morsman. There is also a Managers section and the Foreword has been written by literary legend and Club Vice President Jack Rollin. In part one of this interview Mark talks about pre 1992 and the fact that he was a Shots fan too, Wycombe Wanderers days, the influence of Steve Wignall, Newbury Town and Chertsey Town and the excitement of playing for his home town club
