Scott Donnelly's Picture

Scott Donnelly

Scott is primarily a central midfielder, but he can also play on the wing and as a forward.

He came through the youth set-up at Queen's Park Rangers (the Manager of which was future Shots boss Gary Waddock) and made his senior debut as a 16-year-old in October 2004. However, his appearances at QPR were limited by injury.

In February 2006, Scott signed full pro forms, but within twelve months, he was released and subsequently joined Wealdstone.

He was released by the Stones at the end of the 2006-07 season and trialled at the Rec in the summer of 2007. After the season got under way, he played regularly for the reserve side before signing for the Shots on a non-contract basis in November 2007.

In March 2008, Scott signed a deal to take him through to the end of the 2008-09 season.

Scott was a member of the Shots side that reached the 2007-08 FA Trophy Semi-Finals as well as being a goalscorer in the Setanta Shield Final victory over Rushden and Diamonds.

He then ensured his place in Aldershot Town folklore by scoring the Shots' goal in the 1-1 draw at Exeter City that secured the 2007-08 Blue Square Premier title and, with it, promotion to the Football League. He followed that up by scoring the Shots' (and his own) first-ever Football League goal in the 1-0 victory at Accrington Stanley on the opening day of the 2008-09 season.

In the summer of 2009, Scott signed a new one-year deal at the EBB Stadium.
