ALDERSHOT TOWN 0 FULHAM 1

Full time score from the EBB Stadium

Aldershot went down to a narrow defeat at the EBB Stadium on Friday evening. Fulham started brightly but when the officials failed to spot a wicked deflection on Andy Sandell's cross on six minutes, a goal kick was given instead of a corner. It was to prove costly as the London based side quickly broke to the other end and Eddie Johnson found the corner of the net just on seven minutes for the only goal of the game.

The visitors nearly extended their lead on 15 minutes, when Andranik nearly found Riise in the the box but Ruiz was off his line quickly to deny him. Harris also went close for Fulham with a shot from 25 yards that flew just wide.

On 17 minutes saw the best move of the half for Aldershot when Soares and Morgan combined to set up John Halls whose powerful strike came back off the post.

Diomansey Kamara then fired in a shot on 25 minutes but again Ruiz was equal to it and beat the shot away to safety. The home side then created their first chance just before the half-hour mark when Donnelly played in Morgan. His shot was deflected wide for a corner. From the resulting set piece the ball found Hudson, whose curling shot from the edge of the area was saved by Zuberbuhler in the Fulham goal.

Two minutes from the break newly-signed Ben Herd crossed for Hudson but the Fulham keeper was smartly off his line to deny the Shots wide man. Then just before the half-time whistle the home side went close when Winfield met Donnelly's corner but his header was cleared off the line by Riise.

HALF-TIME ALDERSHOT TOWN 0 FULHAM 1

The second half was just three minutes old when Kirk Hudson tried his luck from the edge of the box. His powerful drive was well blocked by the Fulham defence. Donnelly then had his effort cleared, after a good run just a few minutes later.

Marvin Morgan turned his marker on 52 minutes but his shot was well held by the Fulham keeper. Riise then looked offside at the other end but when no flag came, he advanced into the box but was denied by a fine challenge by Andy Sandell.

Danny Hylton replaced Morgan on 62 minutes and was straight into the action when he broke into the box but his resulting cross was easily cleared. A succession of substitutes then followed and disrupted the flow of the game. On 79 minutes Aldershot created a chance when a corner from Soares fizzed across the box with no Aldershot player able to get a touch.

The last chance of the game fell to Donnelly a minute from time but his clever lob went just over the bar.
