When Aldershot Town FC was formed in 1992 and allocated the Isthmian League Division 3 information and publicity surrounding the club during the week and, indeed, on a match day was scarce. Prior to the days of modern IT, Internet and e mails the most popular way of seeking information about the club was through the "Shotsline" telephone service. Aldershot Town matches were not even featured on Teletext during the first decade of the club.
The premium rate phoneline started in April 1992 to provide information to supporters interested to learn the developments surrounding the newly-formed football club.
From there it developed into the most successful non league service for many years in addition to being one of the most popular throughout the country including Premier League clubs too. During its 17 year operation the Shotsline raised approximately £300,000 for the football club including a staggering £49,000 during one of the season during the tenure of George Borg.
This section includes some of the key interviews surrounding the history of the club during "The Shotsline Years".
